Bigg Boss 14 To undergo Major Changes
Updated : July 17, 2020 02:56 PM ISTWith the coronavirus pandemic in place, there was a lot of uncertainty about the next season of the Colors’ reality show Bigg Boss. Many were speculating that the show won’t even come to pass this year due to COVID-19 and the rules of social distancing in place.
However, it seems that the makers are steadily gearing towards the next season of the show. Once again, it will be hosted by Salman Khan albeit with certain tweaks to its format. According to media reports there have also been certain changes made in the contracts of the contestants due to the pandemic.
A source has been quoted by Pinkvilla as saying, "While every year contestants get paid weekly, this season contestants will be signed on a pre-decided budget and won't be paid weekly. Due to the financial crunch, the show will have 5 popular faces with the lesser-known ones. Given the high amount of uncertainty involved, if in any situation the reality show is stalled in between, the production won't pay for the episodes which didn't happen. A contestant can be eliminated basis of their hygiene, and their temperatures will be checked on a daily basis. If a contestant falls ill, he will be disqualified, but the show won't pay them. Contestants with good immunity will only be taken."
Salman Khan had been the host of the show from the 4th season and since then, he has become synonymous with the notorious reality show. Bigg Boss generally airs in the month of October but this time due to the pandemic situation the show has been pushed back for a month.
