Hathras Gangrape Rape Case Victim Dies Akshay Kumar, Kangana Ranaut And Other Bollywood Stars Enraged

The 19-year-old victim in the Hathras gang rape case on Tuesday, 29 September, succumbed to her injuries and died in Delhi’s Safdarjung hospital. The news has left the nation enraged and many celebrities from Bollywood has expressed their anger on social media demanding the strictest punishment for the four accused in the case.

Right from Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar, Richa Chaddha, to Kangana Ranaut Bollywood celebs raised questions over how long such cases of violence against women will continue and be tolerated.

Akshay in a tweet wrote, Angry & Frustrated!Such brutality in #Hathras gangrape.When will this stop?Our laws & their enforcement must be so strict that the mere thought of punishment makes rapists shudder with fear!Hang the culprits.Raise ur voice to safeguard daughters & sisters-its the least we can do.

Farhan Akhtar expressed grief over the victim's death and said, "Sad sad day. How much longer can this be allowed to go on .. #Hathras"

Actress Kriti Sanon expressed her frustration about the recurring cases of such extreme violence against women and in her tweets reacted saying, “Gut wrenching!! Angry! When will these MONSTERS fear the consequences of such inhuman acts?? I cannot think of a punishment that would be enough for such brutality!! Death by hanging? Shot in the head? death by stoning in public? Somehow still feels less than what they deserve!!”.

The actress added, “Every single time i read about a sexual assault/abuse/Rape case it saddens me so so deeply & boils my blood at the same time! I genuinely feel we need stricter laws & much more horrifying punishments to generate FEAR!! And fast track judgements on such cases! #HathrasHorror”

Richa Chadha demanded punishment for the perpetrators of this heinous crime and wrote, “#JusticeForHathrasVictim everyone deserves to live with dignity. Punish the perpetrators.”

Actress Kangana Ranaut called it a shameful day in the country and said, “Shoot these rapists publicly, what is the solution to these gang rapes that are growing in numbers every year? What a sad and shameful day for this country. Shame on us we failed our daughters.”

Huma Qureshi also reacted and wrote, “How long do we have to tolerate these brutal crimes !! The culprits of this horrific crime should be punished #Hathras”

Actor Riteish Deshmukh demanded the culprits be publically hanged, “The culprits of this brutality & horrific crime should be hanged in public. #Hathras”

The incident took place in Hathras, Uttar Pradesh on 14 September and the victim suffered various injuries to her spinal cord and her tongue was also cut off. She allegedly belonged to the dalit community while the perpetrators were from a dominant caste.
