Here Is Why WeThink That Kareena Is Not The Right Choice To Play Madhubala In Her Biopic

This year saw Bollywood pay tribute to one of its biggest stars and the film went on to break a few records. Yes, we are talking about Sanju and the madness that it brought about among Bollywood fans. There is something so exciting and endearing about Bollywood making a film on a Bollywood star. Our obsession with stars cannot have a better way of manifesting themselves than savoring a biopic which tells some known and some unknown stories of our favorite stars.

While we were barely recovering from the madness of Sanju, here is another Bollywood biopic that has got us excited. Madhur Brij Bhushan, sister of the legendary actress Madhubala has decided to make a biopic on the Venus of Bollywood chronicling her awe-inspiring life. Madhur has decided to cast actress Kareena Kapoor to play the legend who is still remembered as one of the most beautiful actresses to have ever graced the celluloid screen. While we literally cannot contain our excitement about a Madhubala biopic, the casting choice is throwing us a little off guard.

While we do not intend to imply that Kareena is incompetent in any way and it is almost impossible to re-create that smile, those eyes, and that enigma no matter who plays the character. But we genuinely think that there are actresses in Bollywood who would probably do a better job of translating the aura of Madhubala on screen.

The finesse, the grace and the personality that Madhubala exuded and in a way epitomized, is very different from that of Kareena Kapoor. Even in all her grace and poise, she had a maddening rawness about her that made her relatable. Kareena’s personality is a little too polished and posh to pull that off.

Another major reason why Kareena is not the perfect choice for Madhubala, is her own star status and aura. Kareena has majorly imposing personality which she brings to every role of hers. It would prove too much of a challenge for her to let go of Kareena Kapoor, the Bollywood diva and seamlessly slip into the character of Madhubala and channel her aura instead.

Plus, given her star status, the film will become more of a Kareena Kapoor film than a Madhubala biopic, which would kill the essence and purpose of the film.

Having said that, we are sure that if the film gets made, then it will truly be one of a kind and will generate and never seen before buzz. And if Kareena really ends up playing Madhubala, all we wish her is good luck because she would in for a challenge of a lifetime that would either make or break her career, because she would have some really big shoes to fill.
