Here’s The Story Of Vettai, The Tamil Film In Which Tiger-Shroff And Shraddha Kapoor Baaghi 3 Is Allegedly Based

If recent reports are to be believed then Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor’s new film, Baaghi 3 is going to be a remake of the hit Tamil film Vettai. Baaghi 3 will also have Riteish Deshmukh playing the brother of Tiger Shroff in the film that would be directed by Ahmed Khan.

The original film, directed by N. Linguswamy, came out in  2012 and the cast included Arya, R. Madhavan, Sameera Reddy and Amala Paul playing the pivotal roles and told the story of two brothers Thirumurthy and Gurumurthy. The plot of the film goes as follows.

Thirumurthy and Gurumurthy are two brothers from Thhothukudi with completely opposite attitude towards violence. While the elder brother Thirumurthy, played by R. Madhavan, is very timid while the younger brother Gurumurthy, played by Arya is adept at beating up people from a very young age. Even as kids, Thiru employs his younger brother to beat up people who bully him. In fact, their father, who is a policeman constantly berates Guru for his rogue behavior.

In a turn of events, Thiru grows up to become a police inspector like his father while Guru continues to be an unemployed goon. While Thiru falls in love with Vasanthi, played by Sameera Reddy,  Guru is smitten by her sister Jayanthi, played by Amala Paul. They both get married and start living with their wives.

However, on the professional front, Thiru’s reputation rises as a tough cop who punishes criminals but in reality, he takes the credit as Guru does the job of actually punishing the criminals. Things come to a halt, when a village mob boss, Annachi played by Ashutosh Rana, gets to know the truth about Thiru due to a CCTV footage. He sends his men who brutally beat up Thiru. On seeing this, Guru starts training his brother to be stronger and soon he becomes brave and tough enough to beat some of Annachi’s men.

However, Annachi takes revenge by causing havoc at their house and even though Guru and Thiru defeat all his men, Annachi manages to escape. However, the brothers hatch a clever plan and Annachi is finally captured by them. But, this makes for a conflict between two brothers. While Thiru wants to arrest him, Guru wants to kill him. Finally, they resort to a settlement where they agree to spin the gun and if the gun points at the brothers they would arrest Annachi and if it points at him they will kill him. The gun points at Annachi and Thiru shoots him.

Finally, Thiru is felicitated for being a brave cop but he proceeds to share the credits with his brother and finally, with Thiru’s help Guru also joins the police force.
