Indian Idol 11: Azmat Hussain Reveals His Fight Against Drug Abuse And Depression, Was 2011 SaReGaMaPa Li'L Champs Winner!

The auditions for Indian Idol 11 are underway and during the process, we have seen some very brilliant performers take over the stage. But what we had not seen before is judges recognising someone for their talent. That too happened last night when judge Neha Kakkar recognised 2011 SaReGaMaPa Li'L Champs Winner, Azmat Hussain as he made his way into the stage, But what he revealed next left all of us, and the judges, shocked.

Azmat had won our hearts with his brilliant performance in SaReGaMaPa Li'L Champs 8 years back. He was so talented and could sing so well that janta made him the winner. But then post the show, he apparently got into bad company and was addicted to drugs. Such was his substance abuse that he even stopped singing for almost three years.

In a video shared by Sony TV, he narrated how he dealt with depression and substance abuse and finally gathered the courage to participate in Indian Idol this year when he saw co-contestant from SaReGaMaPa, Salman Ali, do well in the last season! Check out the video here:

The judges liked his audition as well. Vishal Dadlani, who is also a judge in the show, has said, "We will do whatever we can to encourage him, this I promise you. The vocal coaches at Indian Idol will definitely help #Azmat find his voice again, and we will try to help him recover his love for music."

It would be interesting to see if he can make it to this season of the singing reality show and repeat history once again by winning it!
