Indian Idol 11: Kartik Aaryan Talks About His Mother's Battle With Breast Cancer, Gets Emotional On The Show

Kartik Aaryan, Bhumi Pednekar and Ananya Pandey’s promotions for their upcoming film have been all about having fun so far. The trio graced the sets of Indian Idol 11 recently for a special episode dedicated to mothers. While everyone celebrated their moms and motherhood, Kartik Aaryan got emotional at one point remembering the sacrifices of his mother during his struggling days and her battle with breast cancer.

It was during the performance of Aligarh based contestant Shahzaan Muzeb, who sang the iconic 'Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein' with his own twist, that got the actor really emotional. The makers of the show also had a surprise message for the actor from his mom where she talked about how proud she was of his journey from Gwalior to Bollywood. Kartik revealed on the show how his mom used to travel to Mumbai to be by his side when he was struggling as an actor. He also made the revelation that his mom battled breast cancer and won.

Talking about his visit, he said, “Shooting for the Mother's Special episode was quite an emotional experience. It brought back all the memories I've had with my mother who has always been a strong pillar of support. I was truly moved by Shahzaan's soul-stirring rendition of 'Surmayi Ankhiyon Mein', which is one of my favourite songs".
