Irrfan's Shrikant To Be Re-Telecast On Doordarshan
Updated : May 01, 2020 06:38 PM ISTIrrfan Khan was an actor par excellence. The actor who was suffering from neuroendocrine cancer breathed his last on the 29 April, ’20. He was undergoing treatment for the same abroad, but he returned to India and completed his pending film Angrezi Medium.
There has been a constant spate of old shows on the tube due to the ongoing Coronavirus lockdown and after Irrfan Khan’s death, Doordarshan has zeroed in on another show that will be re-telecast. This would be Irrfan’s own 'Shrikant'.
Yes, before Irrfan Khan ventured into films, he had been a part of many serials which were aired on Doordarshan and this show which was an adaptation of 1917 novel 'Srikanto' written by acclaimed Bengali writer Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay was amongst the most popular shows he had been a part of.
The re-run of the show will be telecast on Doordarshan and this would also be like a tribute to the unique actor.

The show featured other artistes like Farookh Shaikh, Mrinal Kulkarni, Tiku Talsania, Asha Sharma, Sukanya Kulkarni, Sujata Mehta in important roles. The show will be aired on 3:30 PM.
