Laxmi Narayan Tripathi Supports Akshay Kumar's Laxmii; Says, ''Instead of Criticism, We Should Appreciate Akshay Ji"

Raghava Lawerence’s directorial ‘Laxmii’ featuring Akshay Kumar and Kiara Advani has received a lot of mixed reactions from the netizens. Ever since the film was announced, it has created a buzz among the audience, the fact that Bollywood has never introduced a project with a transgender in the lead and that too the role was being played by an A-lister such as Akshay Kumar. 

However, it seems like the film couldn’t meet the expectations of the audience and received a lot of negative comments from the netizens. But the transgender rights activist Laxmi Narayan Tripathi, who watched the film came out in support of Akshay Kumar starrer Laxmii and its cast. She said people who are spreading hate comments should first watch the film before commenting on it.

"Any transgender is equal to any man or woman, which is what comes out from the film in a strong way. I believe the film is wonderful, and instead of criticism, we should appreciate Akshay Ji for being such a strong man and doing such a strong film. There are many films I have acted in, nobody bought these, it’s a business. These articles are being written about Laxmii without seeing the film, on the eve of its release. I am shocked,” said Laxmii.

Kamal guru a 60-year-old transgender was all praises about the film and also appreciated the performance of Akshay Kumar who portrayed the character so beautifully, “Itni pyaari lagi film, aaj tak koi film aisi nahi lagi (the film is lovely, never felt this way about any film till date). I have been in the hijra community for years. I cried two to three times while the film was playing. I pray to God this film gets a lot of praise.” said Kamal.

Laxmii is a Hindi directorial debut of Raghava Lawence featuring Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. It is a remake of the 2011 Tamil film Kanchana, the film released on the OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar VIP.
