Lootcase Director Opens Up About Making A Sequel
Updated : April 05, 2021 12:50 PM ISTMany have been referring to Kunal Kemmu and Rasika Dugal’s Lootcase as a ‘sleeper hit’. Well, it had to be a hit as it is a well-made comedy thriller with spectacular performances. Not to miss the great direction by Rajesh Krishnan, who is known for his wonderful web series TVF Tripling. Well, the film got its due at the 66th Vimal Elaichi Filmfare Awards 2021. It was nominated in various categories and Krishnan also bagged the award for Best Debut Director. The only question fans have on their minds now is if the film will get a sequel!

In a recent chat with Spotboye, the filmmaker shared that he is keen on making a sequel, even if it takes a few years, but he doesn’t want to con the audience. He explained, “I don’t think I am that smart or intelligent to just sit one afternoon and write a sequel just because the audience came to watch part 1. If I make a sequel now but with not a great story, it might get a big opening but then it will fizzle out. To add to that, we will be called those idiots who messed around with a great idea. So, if we make a sequel, we need to have a great story that is out of our comfort zone.”

When asked if he has had any ideas, he shared, “There have been many but most of them are like those that you come out with while drunk at night and then when you are hungover the next day, you realise it wasn’t a good one.” He feels its better that he points it out rather than movie-lovers experiencing it. Well, let’s hope things work out for the team and we get Lootcase 2.0!
