The four accused named Akshay Thakur, Vinay Sharma, Pawan Gupta and Mukesh Singh were hanged under tight security in Nation's capital. Once the news of their hanging surfaced, Twitter abounded with comments and reaction from all and sundry!
Many celebrities like Sushmita Sen, Riteish Deshmukh, Preity Zinta, Taapsee Pannu and others too shared their thoughts.
Riteish felt, justice has finally been served but it took a long time. He stated, “Stricter law enforcement, harsher punishment & fast courts for quick justice is the only way to instil fear in monsters who even think of such heinous acts. #JusticeForNirbhaya." He further prayed for the well-being o Nuirbhaya’s soul and her family.

Reacting strongly to the hanging of the four culprits in the Nirbhaya case, veteran actor Rishi Kapoor wrote: “Nirbhaya Justice. Jaisi karni waisi bharni Leave this example not only in India but worldwide. The punishment for rape is death . You have to respect femininity. Shame on the people who delayed the execution. Jai Hind! “

Preity Zinta took to Twitter and wrote, "Finally the #Nirbhayacase comes to an end. I wish it would have been faster but I’m happy it’s over. Finally, she & her parents are in peace. #RIPJyoti #RIPNirbhaya #Justicedelayed #TookTooLong." She further went on to stress that justice was served pretty late and that if the justice would have been delivered earlier, many crimes against women could be averted.
