PM Narendra Modi Tweets Tribute To Irrfan
Updated : April 29, 2020 07:29 PM ISTPrime minister Mr Narendra Modi paid a tribute to the late actor Irrfan khan, after Irrfanb’s death news started doing the rounds of the social media. The actor died of colon cancer at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
The last rites of the actor took place at the Versova Kabrastan. Irrfan Khan passed away on the 29th April, ’20. The actor was 53 years old. Irrfan Khan’s wife Sutopa had once in a media interaction had revealed that she had always found the actor to be extremely focussed.
In the tweet PM said that Irrfan will be "remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums".
"Irrfan's demise is a loss to the world of cinema and theatre. He will be remembered for his versatile performances across different mediums. My thoughts are with his family, friends and admirers. May his soul rest in peace," he further wrote.

Just three days ago, Irrfan's mother passed away due to age-related complications. Irrfan was said to be extremely perturbed by this loss and thereafter Irrfan’s health updates suggested that his condition deteriorated. In 2018, Irrfan was diagnosed with neuroendocrine cancer. He was under treatment in the UK and thereafter on returning to India, in February last year and began working on his film Angrezi Medium.
The film eleased but its run was cut short due to the COVID 19 induced lockdown and later it was re-released on an OTT platform. The actor has been survived by his wife Sutopa and his two sons Babil and Ayan.
