Raj Kundra's arrest based on Whatsapp chats where revenue and production of adult films was discussed with 4 others

Businessman Raj Kundra was arrested on Monday night for allegedly being involved in the production of adult films for an app he has a stake in. The Mumbai Police has been working on busting a major porn racket in the city since earlier this year in which actress Gehana Vasisth was arrested earlier this year.

Shilpa Shetty’s husband has been named as a ‘key conspirator’ by the Mumbai Police and as evidence, they have Whatsapp chats between Raj and 4 others who were members of a group where the production of these alleged adult films, payment of models and revenue split was discussed according to reports.

In the chat called ‘H account’ are 5 members including Kundra, Pradeep Bakshi who is said to running the business from the U.K. and is allegedly related to Raj, Megha Viaan ‘accounts’, Rob Digital Marketing Hotshot and Raw Evans, content head of Hotshots.

The case was registered on February 4 at the Malwani police station in Mumbai. While Raj’s arrest last night was followed by the arrest of one Ryan John on Tuesday from Navi Mumbai in connection with the case. Both accused will be produced before the court today.

The case against  Raj has been filed under various relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code, Information Technology Act, and Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act.
