Ranbir Kapoor To Play Kishore Kumar In His Biopic, Confirms Director Anurag Basu

After the failure of Jagga Jasoos, rumours have been doing the rounds that Ranbir Kapoor might never team up with director Anurag Basu. But then, we got to hear that the two might actually come together once again for legendary singer Kishore Kumar's biopic. Nothing much had been heard about the project though. But now, Anurag Basu has finally broken his silence about the project.

Talking to Filmfare, the director has confirmed that Kishore Kumar's biopic is indeed on the cards. When asked about the project, Anurag said, "The Kishore Kumar biopic will happen for sure. Ranbir Kapoor and I are committed to it. But it depends on my availability and his dates. Ranbir's my first choice."

Fingers crossed that Anurag'availability and Ranbir's dates fall in place, because it would be so exciting to see Ranbir as Kishore Kumar. If the project happens, it would be Ranbir's second biopic after Sanju. Right now, Ranbir is busy with Ayan Mukerji's fantasy drama Brahmastra, which is all set to release on 4th December this year. It would be the first part of the trilogy. He will also be seen opposite Vaani Kapoor in the dacoit drama Shamshera.
