Rhea Chakraborty Arrives At CBI Guesthouse For Interrogation, Narcotics Control Bureau Sends Notice To Actress
Rhea Chakraborty Arrives At CBI Guesthouse
Updated : August 28, 2020 12:58 PM ISTAfter the CBI took over the investigation of the Sushant Singh Rajput case, there are many unheard-of versions of the tale coming to the forefront. People have been on tenterhooks ever since. And the latest is, the CBI has now summoned Rhea Chakraborty for questioning. The actress has already arrived at the CBI guest house as we file the story. Sushant Singh Rajput's flatmate Siddharth Pithani, the late actor's cook Neeraj too have arrived there at the same time for questioning.
On Thursday Rhea’s brother Showik Chakraborty had to face the CBI heat as the investigating officers grilled Showik for more than 14 hours, until midnight. Both Rhea Chakraborty, Showik Chakraborty have been accused in money laundering charges by Sushant’s father Mr KK Singh as the two of them were part of the company Sushant had started. Mr KK Singh had lodged the FIR in Bihar. Sushant’s father has also accused Rhea of abetment of his son's suicide and later he went on to allege murder.
Yesterday, Rhea in an India Today interview finally broke her silence and it was the first time since Sushant Singh Rajput's death and the multiple accusations being hurled on her that she spoke up. In that interview, she shed light on different accusations made on her. She said, she felt "broken" after such heinous allegations. She said, "My family is being treated like terrorists... Tomorrow if something happens to us because of the media pressure ... I am part of three investigations, all I have left is my spirit. That is also being crushed."
On the other hand, the Enforcement Directorate who is working on the money laundering angle checked Rhea's father Indrajit Chakraborty's bank lockers for six hours yesterday after questioning him.
The Narcotics Central Bureau stepped into the investigation when the drug angle came into play. It all started after few WhatsApp chats were revealed in which Rhea's texts seem as though she has been asking people about drugs. Jaya Saha, who is the manager of the actress has also said words like, "Use 4 drops in coffee, tea or water, and let him sip it. Give it 30 - 40 mins for it to kick in."
Even though in the same India Today interview Rhea Chakraborty rubbished claims of her drug-use saying, "I have never taken drugs in my life and I don't know any drug dealer,” NCB has sent notices to Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, Sushant’s house manager Samuel Miranda, Rhea’s manager Jaya Saha and hotelier-drug dealer Gaurav Arya today. The Narcotics Control Bureau arrived in Mumbai on Thursday, to investigate the matter after the drugs angle in the story cropped up. Times Now sources in the NCB reported, “Notices will be served under section of 67 NDPS Act. It is also said that some drug peddlers may be arrested from Mumbai or its nearby areas as well.”
