Rhea Chakraborty’s Lawyer Reveals Why They Filed A Probe Transfer Petition With The Supreme Court
Rhea's Lawyer Reveals Why Transfer Petition Was Filed
Updated : July 30, 2020 11:51 AM ISTThe Sushant Singh Rajput and the Rhea Chakraborty case has taken some bizarre twists and turns. After Sushant’s father filed an F.I.R. against his son’s rumoured girlfriend with the Patna police, rather murky revelations have come to the fore. Sushant’s family has been alleging, Rhea has been trying to brush everything under the carpet.
On 29 July, Rhea filed a Supreme Court petition to transfer the investigation from the Patna police to the Mumbai police. Her lawyer Satish Maneshinde revealed what made them file a petition with the apex judicial court.
Maneshinde told Pinkvilla, "We have moved the supreme court with the plea to transfer the investigation to Mumbai as the call of action arose in Mumbai and investigations are pending in Mumbai under section 174 of the CRPC."
After the F.I.R. had been lodged against Rhea, a four-member team from Patna has begun a preliminary investigation in Mumbai. Sushant’s father has levelled 9 to 10 serious charges against the Jalebi actress which include abetment to suicide, theft, breach of trust and more.
The F.I.R. has been filed against Rhea and five others which include her brother Showik and parents. While many have been pleading the government for a CBI probe in the matter and a PIL has also been filed in the Bombay High Court for a second time, the Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh said, ‘the question of a CBI investigation in the Sushant Singh Rajput case doesn’t arise” because the Mumbai police are doing their job.
