Saif Ali Khan explains why he didn’t get paid for Go Goa Gone; reveals Taimur made him realize potential of horror genre
In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Saif opened up about the potential of horror genre in the country. Comparing his horror comedy to the zombie apocalypse black comedy, Saif shared, “Go Goa Gone was a very indie, niche kind of a film. It was a zombie comedy and was not meant to be hugely commercial. It was just a fun idea and I didn’t even get paid for that as that was the only way to make that film. Bhoot Police is a lot more commercial and has a rooted idea. I am looking forward to spinning it into a franchise.”

He went on to reveal that it was his son Taimur, who made him realize the potential of the genre! That’s right. Saif recalled that when he, Taimur and Kareena Kapoor Khan watched the film Mummy together, they were snuggled up together. His son was not scared, but he was scared enough to bond with the family. Saif explained, “It showed me that there is a lot of potential in the emotion of fear. It’s a strong market if something gets you together with your kids.”
Well, fans are now eagerly waiting for news about the Bhoot Police franchise!
