Jawani Janeman is directed by Nitin Kakar, who last made Notebook for Salman Khan. The film is also in news since Saif is said to be returning in a cool avtar, a la Love Aaj Kal, Cocktail and Hum Tum. There was also a point in time when it was said that Saif would be playing Sara Ali Khan's father in Imtiaz Ali's romcom drama. Later, that piece of news was quashed and the new rumor that started making the rounds was Saif stepping in as Kartik Aaryan's father instead.

However, Saif put forth all rumors at rest and denied being a part of his daughter's film. He did admit though that Imtiaz had offered him the film, which is said to be sequel to Love Aaj Kal but hasn't been named one. Saif was quoted as saying that he would have loved to play the part had time permitted and while it was a lovely film in the making, he wasn't doing it.

While as an actor he isn't a part of Sara Ali Khan's biggie, interestingly he has stepped into Jawani Janeman as a producer as well alongside Jay Shewakramani.

"That made the matters further interesting as it was surprising when news started making rounds around both the films clashing with each other. When you are associated with a film as a producer as well, you can definitely pick and choose a date which best suits everyone's interest. Here, it was his daughter's film with which he could have ended up clashing. Eventually the clash had to be averted and one film had to move. Which family would have wanted a father to take on his daughter at the Box Office anyways," wonders a trade guru.

This is what has happened as well and now Saif and his daughter Sara’s films are separated by three months.

Interestingly though, there are two more films that have their eyes set on Valentine's Day arrival as well, Aanand L. Rai's Shubh Mangal Zyaada Savdhan [Ayushmann Khurranna] and Mohit Suri's Malang [Anil Kapoor, Aditya Roy Kapur, Kunal Khemu, Disha Patani].

Guess there won't be just love in the air next Valentine's Day, there would be war as well!
