Save Aarey Forest: Swara Bhasker, Farhan Akhtar And Other Celebs Take To Twitter After Trees Were Being Cut At Night!
Bollywood Grieves Aarey Deforestation
Updated : October 05, 2019 12:39 PM ISTYesterday almost at the dead of the night, authorities in Mumbain started to cut off tress from the Aarey forest. The BMC has approved the cutting of almost 3000 trees, so that a metro shed can be made and after the approval, citizens all over have been protesting against the move. Aarey is vital to the Mumbai eco-system and cutting it down would mean hampering the balance. Protesters are also of the opinion that the car shed can be made in some barren land instead of chopping down trees.
Amidst such protest, the authorities started cutting down trees late at night, and when the citizens learnt about it, they rushed to save the forest. But not just the Aam janta, many of our favourite celebs also took to social media to reach out to more people and raise an alarm. Right from Farhan Akhtar to Dia Mirza to Swara Bhasker, celebs took to social media to condemn the act as well. Here is what they said:
1. Farhan Akhtar condemned the move:
