Shefali Shah Talks About Her Prep To Play A Medical Professional In Ayushmann’s Doctor G And Medical Thriller Human

A few weeks ago, the team of Doctor G welcomed Shefali Shah on board as Dr Nandini. Also starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Rakul Preet Singh, the film is being directed by Anubhuti Kashyap. Well, Doctor G is not the only upcoming project that will see Shefali in a white coat. She will also be portraying the character of a medical professional in Human, a web series on Hotstar which has been helmed by Vipul Amrutlal Shah. The medical thriller will feature Shefali and actress Kirti Kulhari in avatars we have never seen before.

In a recent chat with Mid Day, Shefali opened up about her prep for the two very different projects. She shared, “In Human, my character is a neurosurgeon. So, when we were filming the surgery scenes that required me to handle prosthetics, there was a surgeon on the set to guide me through it. Similarly, we underwent a virtual training session for Doctor G. An obstetrician-gynaecologist [was brought on board] to teach us how to use the instruments.”

Directed by Mozez Singh, Human will reportedly shed light on scams that surround human drug testing. Talking about how it’s far from her comfort zone, Shefali shared that she hasn’t dealt with a subject like Human before so she needed to understand technicalities. She explained, “If there are [medical] terms in the script, I will pick up a [dictionary] to know what they mean. I will read up on the [specified] condition, its pros and cons because I need to know [as much as I can on the subject].”
