Centre Tells Supreme Court : Hand Over Sushant’s Case To CBI
Updated : August 05, 2020 02:03 PM ISTThe Bihar government gave its positive nod in handing over the death case of actor Sushant Singh Rajput to the CBI. However, unless the fierce opposition by the Maharashtra government ceases, the CBI won’t be able to begin with their probe in the case. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on request of Sushant’s family recommended the center for a CBI probe in the case on Tuesday, which was being investigated by Patna police.
A notification issued by Bihar Government read, "The Governor of Bihar is pleased to accord his consent to exercise of powers and jurisdiction to the whole of Bihar and other places related to the case to the members of Delhi Special Police Establishment to Investigative and enquire into the case related to death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput."

And now, the center has informed the Supreme Court, that the case involving the death of Sushant Singh Rajput will be handed over to the CBI. This step has been taken on the recommendation of the Bihar authorities and especially after Bihar CM Mr Nitish Kumar had tweeted in favour of the CBI investigation in the case.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, representing the government told the Supreme Court that the investigation was being handed over to the CBI.
