It is being reported that Dharma Productions and Karan Johar, who had bought the Hindi remake rights of the film for a whopping amount of Rs. 6 crores was keen on casting Vijay who is the lead of the original Telugu film. In fact, reports claim that Karan offered him an unbelievable amount of Rs. 40 crores for the film which he politely turned down.
