When an actress called out Vidya Balan for her dressing sense: "Wanted to tell her, 'First, why don't you focus on your acting?'"

Vidya Balan has never failed her fans as a performer, going from strength to strength with each project she takes up. While no one can lift a finger at her actress for her acting prowess, she has had to hear a lot when it comes to her fashion choices in her many years in Bollywood. Having been heavily trolled for her fashion outings early in her career, Vidya shut the fashion police up with her confidence, grace and of course her performances.

In a recent interview, Vidya recalled an encounter with another actress early on in her career where the other actress called her out for her dressing sense. She tells RJ Siddharth Kannan, "One actress I remember told me something about my dressing sense. I wanted to turn around and tell her, 'First, why don't you focus on your acting?'"

Talking about how this incident made her feel the Sherni actress said, "Jab unhone mujhse yeh kaha (When she said this to me), I was so stunned that she had the gall to say something like that to me, because it's none of her business, that I came out feeling like 'what just happened'."

"And then I thought to myself, 'Kapdo ke baare mein baat karna bohot aasaan hai, actor agar ho toh thodi si acting bhi kar lo (It is easy to talk about clothes, but if you are an actor, then at least act a little),' Vidya added.

The Sherni actress did come to be known for her love of sarees which are her ultimate fashion statement. The actress, however, never let her red carpet looks define her career.
