Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 star Nakuul Mehta on comparisons with Ram Kapoor: ‘It's a tough act to follow’

Nakuul Mehta and Disha Parmar began their journey in the entertainment world together in 2012 with the television show Pyaar Ka Dard Hai Meetha Meetha Pyaara Pyaara. Well, a few months back the two actors met each other and causally spoke about working together again. Little did they know that their wish will come true soon! Much to the delight of fans, Nakuul and Disha are reuniting on our screens after 7 long years. The two are all set to step into the shoes of TV’s beloved characters Ram and Priya for Ekta Kapoor’s Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2.

In a recent chat with Pinkvilla, Nakuul revealed that when Disha called him to say that they might do a show together again soon, he was sure that it will be a lot of fun. He was quoted saying, “There is a sense of comfort that we share. Over the years, we have kept in touch, and there is mutual respect and friendship that kind of makes life easier, because on the first day of the shoot you don’t have to go and break the ice. It feels organic and natural, and I think that is beautiful.”

While Disha will be playing the role of Priya, originally portrayed by Sakshi Tanwar, Nakuul will take over Ram Kapoor’s character. Talking about comparisons to the actor, Nakuul shared, “I completely sort of understand that there will be comparisons, and both Ram and Sakshi are stalwarts in the industry. Sakshi I am a huge fan of, and even Ram has built such a beautiful career for himself. So if you look at it from that point of view, it's a tough act to follow.”

However, he further shared that for him it is a fresh character. Nakuul did watch the show as an audience, but as an artist the character of Ram Kapoor is a fresh challenge for him, which he will paint with his imagination. He added that comparisons don’t bother him because it’s natural, but if he does good work people will hopefully come around.

After seeing the love received by the adorable teasers, it is safe to say that the audience is ready to accept the new Ram and Priya with opens arms. Bade Achhe Lagte Hain 2 will premiere on television on 30^th August.
