Gangs Of Filmistan Producer Reacts To Shilpa Shinde’s Allegations; Reveals The Actress Knew Sunil Grover Would Be A Part Of The Show

After making fans fall in love with her character Angoori Bhabhi in Bhabhi Ji Ghar Par Hai and winning the 11^th season of Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss, Shilpa Shinde joined forces with comedian Sunil Grover for the 2018 show Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan. Well after two long years, the actress was all set to make her comeback on television and reunite with Sunil in the upcoming comedy show Gangs Of Filmistan. However, she recently revealed that she was not happy with the makers and wanted to quit.

Shilpa claimed that the producers were flouting guidelines while shooting on the sets, made Sunil the face of the show and kept Sugandha Mishra and her as ‘showpieces’ on the set. Shilpa also stated that makers had told her Sunil’s portion is separate from hers. However, she later learned that he was the judge and the rest were there to entertain him. Well Gangs Of Filmistan producer Preeti Simoes reacted to these allegations in an interview with TOI and revealed that the production team is following all the guidelines while shooting. She also claimed that Shilpa never spoke to the team about any of her concerns before and does not understand where this is coming from.

Talking about Shilpa’s statements on Sunil, Preeti stated that the two were cordial with each other. She went on to reveal, “When we were casting Shilpa Shinde was the first name who was finalized for the show Sunil was brought on board very later. Siddharth and Shilpa were the first to people who we spoke to for the show. And any creative process is a process by the time the show got developed into what it is today, there was a need to cast someone of Sunil's stature and experience to be a part of the show. So when the show went on the floor when we were shooting the promo Shilpa knew about it.” Preeti admitted that Shilpa had a few reservations during the promo shoot, but they talked it out.

Preeti also shared, “We do many spoofs of Bollywood films in the show and every spoof has a male lead and a female lead so Shilpa usually ends up playing the female lead and Sunil the male lead. Their chemistry with each other is so good. We mail scripts two days in advance so if there was any apprehension she could have brought it up. She never did that. She never told me that she doesn't want to perform with Sunil Grover or her lines were less as compared to other actors.” The producer also stated that Shilpa’s reaction for not being seen on the show has come a little premature as she has not seen the show yet. She added, “Why would I pay to get a Shilpa Shinde when I won't show her in the episode. She is an A list actress of television, so why would I get her name and not utilise her.”

Talking about allegations of favoritism towards Sunil, Preeti made it very clear that it’s not the case and each actor is equal on the show. While Preeti concluded that she hopes Shilpa’s misunderstandings are cleared and they can resolve the matter, latest buzz suggests that the actress has stopped reporting to the sets and is not taking anyone’s calls.
