After MNS Reprimands Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Makers Over A Dialogue, Producer Issues Apology
Asit Modi Issues Apology To MNS Over Dialogue
Updated : March 04, 2020 04:46 PM ISTIt wouldn’t be an exaggeration to call Sab TV’s Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah to be the most popular shows on television. However, one of the dialogues in the show has recently landed it in big trouble. The dialogue is “Hindi is the language of Mumbai.”
And now the netizens and MNS opposed the dialogue vehemently and demanded an apology from the makers of the show.
Ameya Khopkar warned the makers of TMKOC stating that they are promoting such propaganda despite knowing Marathi is Mumbai’s language. He also mentioned in his tweet that these ‘Gujarati insects’ must be stopped, and that Maharashtrian actors, part of the show should be ashamed to support a statement like this.

Now producer Asit Modi has issued a statement saying, Marathi is without a doubt Mumbai’s main language. He took to his official Twitter handle saying, “ “मुंबई महाराष्ट्र में है और हमारे महाराष्ट्र की राजभाषा भाषा मराठी ही है. इस में कोई डाउट नहीं है. मैं भारतीय हूँ . महाराष्ट्रियन हूँ और गुजराती भी हूँ. सारी भारतीय भाषाओं का सम्मान करता हूँ. जय हिन्द."

Not just this there was an episode that was aired last night that had a part which also clarified the same stance. Asit also shared the video and retweeted, “The only thing we believe in spreading love and happiness! We apologize if we have hurted any sentiments through our show. We believe in unity in diversity & respect for each and every religion and its mother tongue. Keep smiling & keep watching #TMKOC!."

Well, for the uninitiated, there was a scene in the show where there is a lot of confusion over the ‘suvichar’ written on the board of the society. After the confusion, Baouji comes up and suggests that the 'suvichar' should be written in Hindi because they are in Mumbai. Because Hindi is a language that is understood by all.
MNS General Secretary Shalini Thackeray also criticized the makers and mentioned Marathi ‘suvichar’ below their ears, referring to a slap.
