Devoleena Bhattacharjee's tweets in support of the victim in Pearl V Puri rape case meet with a sharp response from Nia Sharma

Actress Devoleena Bhattacharjee and Nia Sharma are at loggerheads with each other over the reactions to the ongoing Pearl V Puri case pouring in social media. An upset and angry Devoleena took to social media on Sunday to slam those blaming the victim and abusing her parents on social media in the name of showing support to Pearl. The actor was arrested on Friday on charges of alleged rape and molestation of a minor under 12 years of age in 2019.

Devoleena said that those opposed to Pearl’s arrest should protest peacefully instead of spreading dirt about the victim on social media. Reacting to Devoleena’s tweets, Nia wrote on Twitter, "Didi ko koi bata do dharna and candle march nahi kar sakte pandemic hai abhi bhi (Someone please tell big sister that we cannot have a strike and candle march as the pandemic is still on). Also Didi needs to practice her dance before she makes those pathetic dance reels thinking she’s nailing them."

The Saath Nibhana Saathiyta actress after Nia’s response penned another tweet saying her tweets were meant for those abusing the victim and calling her a gold digger but wondered by it offended Nia. “Please Choti ko koi bato do sirf fashion skills dikhane se koi insaan nahi banta hai.Acchi soch aur acche dil ki zarurat hoti hai jiski kami dikh rahi hai.And whether i nailed my reels or no let my fans decide. Yahan pe bhi judge ban gayee.Rather focus on your photoshoots,” she wrote in reply.

And waise all my tweets were for those who are abusing,trolling & cursing ,naming the 7 yrs old girl a gold digger.Mirchi choti ko kyun lagi?Or May be she is one of them who reacts reading articles without checking the truth & facts,” Devoleena added.

Nia has been one of the many names in the TV industry who opposed Pearl’s arrest. Beside her, Ekta Kapoor, Anita Hassandani, Kyrstle D’souza, Divya Khosla Kumar, krishma Tanna are among the others who have vouched for the actor’s innocence.
