Indian Idol 12 semi finals: Karan Johar reveals how Udit Narayan refused to sing for Shah Rukh Khan without his special shirt on

Karan Johar is the talk of the town as the filmmaker is juggling multiple work commitments have fans are looking forward to eagerly. Right from getting back in the director’s chair with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani and prepping to take project on floors soon, to hosting Bigg Boss OTT, KJo has also our attention. The filmmaker however, took out time from his hectic schedule and graced the sets of Indian Idol 12, a show which he earlier claimed in a tweet that he loved.

The Dharma chief will be the special guest on the singing reality show’s upcoming semi finals. A promo featuring Karan has already been released by the makers of Indian Idol 12 and Karan seems genuinely pleased to meet the top six contestants no matter what the trolls might have to say.

While on the show Karan also revealed a fun anecdote about host Aditya Narayan’s father Udit Narayan who sang the title track of the filmmaker’s debut directorial film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. Karan revealed how Udit Narayan was asked by him to record the title track of the film which was picturised on Shah Rukh Khan. It would not have been the first time that the popular singer leaned his voice to an SRK character but Udit was not quite prepared to record the song Kuch Kuch Hota Hai when Karan asked because he wasn’t wearing his pink shirt.

Revealing the mystery, Karan added that Udit Narayan had a special pink shirt which he wore every time he recorded a song for Shah Rukh Khan and the singer especially went home to change into his pink shirt before he finally recorded the song. Karan said that by the time Kuch Kuch Hota Hai happened Udit’s pink shirt was all worn out with he still refused to record the song without it.

Indian Idol 12 has six contestants remaining including, Pawandeep Rajan, Arunita Kanjilal, Nihal Tauro, Mohd Danish, Shanmukhapriya and Sayli Kamble. The show is gearing up for its grand finale on August 15.
