Gold Trailer: Akshay Kumar Charms As The Indian Man With A Dream, But Why That Annoying Accent?

If it is the Republic Day or the Independence Day, be sure that there would be 99% chances of an Akshay Kumar release. Akshay Kumar has proved to be the modern day patriot who has been gifting the nation and the fans with a film that will have patriotism as a sub-theme. The best part of it all is that he makes sure that fans and cinema-goers are thoroughly entertained while delivering the message.

This year too, after Padman, Akshay Kumar is all set to bring back the fire on Independence Day with Reema Kagti's Gold. The teaser of the film had made us all super excited and now finally the trailer is here.

Akshay Kumar plays a mad Bengali who wants India to win a Gold. He knows the potential of his country, which has won Gold for 3 consecutive years as British India and with the British flag being hoisted. He is all set to create a team of players who have all the potential. His ultimate dream is to win the Olympic Gold medal in London Olympics so that they can defeat their so-called "rulers" in their own country in front of their own people.

Mouni Roy, who was seen for a split second in the teaser is quite visible in the trailer as Akshay's Bengali wife. While everything is great, we are not really sure about the reason as to why they speak Bengali and Hindi in such a distorted manner. Bollywood, isn't it high time that we get over stereotyping Bengali Hindi in this manner?

As the team, Reema has an ensemble cast. There is Kunal Kapoor, who will be seen after quite a long time (no, that cameo in Dear Zindagi does not count), Amit Sadh, Mukkabaaz actor Vineet Singh (we hope he does not get cast as a sportsman in every film though) and Vicky's brother Sunny Kaushal.

What took our breath away in the short time and built a perfect tempo was the music. But the trailer looks a tad bit too long and gets boring in the last few minutes.
