Simmba Trailer: Ranveer Singh And Rohit Shetty Is A Pair Made In Masala Entertainment Heaven

What happens when the powerhouse of energy in Bollywood meets one of the biggest entertainer in the industry? Well, clearly Simmba happens. The trailer of one of the most awaited film of the year is here and let just already thank Rohit Shetty for making us fall in love with masala entertainers over and over again.

Releasing on 28^th December, Simmba is probably the best closure we could have hoped for to bring this fantastic year to a close. We checked out the powerhouse trailer of the film and after checking our initial excitement that was soaring through the sky, here are our takeaways.

Ranveer Singh Was Made For Masala Movies

While this entity has been a fireball of energy in his real life, he has hardly done films which captured his love for everything larger than life and dramatic. Dear Ranveer Singh, you were born for masala entertainers. The grandeur, the drama, the antics suit his personality like a glove. Also, the Marathi accent that he developed for Bajirao Mastani is doing wonders for him in this one.

Sara Ali Khan Is Easily Our Favorite Find Of The Year

What a sensational debut to have with two back to back films with such different sensitivities. With her candour and an energy that matches that Ranveer of, Sara is making a statement with Simmba, one that says that she is anything but a stereo. She has managed to carry the aura of typical Hindi film heroine in modern setting but does not looked shoved and pushed by the hyper-masculine feel of the movie.

An Extension of Singham and Perhaps Dabbang

Make no mistake, Simmba is an extension of Singham. Not a sequel, but perhaps a Singham. Hwoever, Bajirao Singham and Bhalerao Sangram look like totally different characters. They have the same desi swag and makes police uniform look uber sexy. but while Singham was ferociously honest and righteous man, Bhalerao here is a crook who is happy making money out of the profession but comes to senses when faced by a heinous case of a rape. Also, Sonu Sood is a total throwback to Chhedi Singh, his character in Dabbang. Even the warehouse action sequence will totally remind you of the opening action sequence of Dabbang 2. But somehow, we are not complaining.

Pleasant Surprise

We understood when the trailer starts with Singham and how he inspired this kid in Shivgarh to become a police office. But the surprise comes when in the aforementioned action sequence, Singham makes an appearance. We are dying to know how Rohit has managed to bring these two supercops created by him together.

A Rohit Shetty Entertainer

A little wit, a lot of action and visual grandeur- Simmba is a signature Rohit Shetty entertainer alright. From the witty dialogue to the desi swagger in action sequences a to the high octave drama it is everything one needs to make a massive blockbuster. It has images of all his previous blockbusters, but manages to create a buzz that is unique to this one.

The Background Music

As if the on-going antics on the screen were not enough, the super energetic background music amps up the adrenaline rush to a new level. We can already picture the excitement and hear the whistles in theatres everytime the tune plays in the back. Ala re ala Simmba ala is going to be a mass favorite without a doubt.
