Kathakali Rated U/A, No Tax Exemption

The forthcoming Vishal starrer Kathakali has got a U/A censor rating. The movie is an action entertainer produced by Vishal under his Vishal Film Factory banner. Kathakali stars Catherine Thresa opposite Vishal and Karunas has a pivotal role in the film.

Recenty, it was reported that Bala's 'Tharai Thappattai' was rated A by the censor board. Now that both the film have been unsuccessful in getting the U rating, they will not be given the 30 percent tax exemption that the Tamil Nadu State Government gives to U rated movies. Both the films will be released in January next year for Pongal.

The music for Kathakali has been scored by Hip Hop Tamizha Aadhi. It has been directed by Pandiraj. The cast also includes Regina Cassandra, Nassar, Soori, Sreejith Ravi and Pawan. The script has been written by Pandiraj as well. Balasubramaniem is responsible for the cinematography of the film. It will be released on January 14.
