Lakshmi Menon is planning to quit Kollywood

Extremely bored with the monotonous roles she has been playing over the last few years, young actress Lakshmi Menon has decided to bid farewell to the industry. "Most filmmakers in Kollywood bring to me scripts that have me either playing a village girl or a girl-next-door. I am extremely bored essaying the same kind of roles in all my films - it is getting too repetitive. I need a break from this, so I am planning to quit soon," she said.

On being asked if she would still consider any roles if offered, the actress said, "I may, if I get a strong script where there is some scope of showing my acting mettle. I want to be a performer, and not just another heroine. But even then, I am not sure about it, as of now, I need to concentrate on my Class XII board exams, as my only goal at the moment is scoring good marks." Well hope some producers are listening to the lady and offer her some challenging roles.
