Madhavan Talks About His Foray Into The Realm Of Web-Series

Kollywood star Madhavan is known to have starred in movies such as Manmadan Ambu, Vettai and Irudhi Suttru. The actor’s last movie Vikram Vedha was a smash hit among the Tamil audience. The star recently got into a chatty mode regarding his recent foray into the realm of web series.

He said, “Well, I was always of the opinion that the digital space is something I should enter. Not because of anything else but for the freedom it would afford me over the choice of content. Also, it's been proven worldwide that statistically more people watch digital content than they watch television or films. The impact and benefit is not as much as that of a film; that can never be. A film star is always a film star. But it's a mutually beneficial medium. The medium benefits because of us, and we benefit out of the reach and the recognition the digital medium provides us”.

He further added, “I knew that if I was entering that field, it would get a lot of traction because of me, but equally, the audience would never forgive me if the content fell short. Let's face it, these guys are watching House Of Cards, Billions, etc, so my content had to be right up there with these offerings”.
