Mani Ratnam’s ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ Received ‘U’ Certificate

Slated to release on April 7, 2017, Mani Ratnam’s upcoming entertainer ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ has passed the censor test with a ‘U’ certificate. Touted to be a romantic thriller, the film will feature Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles. The audio launch of the movie is scheduled for March 20, 2017.

In ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’, Karthi plays a pilot while Aditi essays the role of a doctor. The film is being produced, written and directed by Mani Ratnam. Versatile musician and Academy Award winner A. R. Rahman has composed the score of the film.

Three songs from the album have already been released and the rest will be out on the audio launch ceremony of the film. The first look poster of ‘Kaatru Veliyidai’ was revealed in early July 2016, inspired by a poem of Subramania Bharati. Ravi Varman is the cinematographer of the film, which is being bankrolled under the Madras Talkies banner.
