Manikandan Talks About His Budding Career

Manikandan has come a long way in Kollywood. The actor-director considered Rajinikanth as his idol and now, has got the opportunity to work alongside him. Manikandan has been roped in for Rajini’s next titled ‘Kaala’. The multi faceted actor has been a director, a DJ and writer, along with being an actor.

The recently released flick, ‘Vikram Vedha’, stars R. Madhavan, Vijay Sethupathi, Kathir and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. It also has Manikandan, who has written the dialogues as well. Talking about his journey, the actor shared, “Mimicry was my first tryst. A popular reality comedy show turned out to be a platform for me. I was the runner-up of a season and I realised that my voice is my talent. So, I went on to become a RJ and then dubbed for shows”.

The actor also shared that while shooting for ‘Kadhalum Kadandhu Pogum’, he got pretty friendly with Vijay Sethupathi. He then got a call from Vijay saying that Pushkar and Gaythri wanted to meet him. He was supposed to audition for a role initially but then they asked him to work on the dialogues. Eventually, he ended up writing the whole film.
