Marathi Blockbuster Sairat To Be Remade In Telugu And Tamil

Producer Rockline Venkatesh has announced of remaking the much acclaimed Marathi film Sairat in Telugu and Tamil. The flick will be remade in collaboration with Zee Studios. Talking about the movie, Rockline said, “We have already selected the cast and technicians”.

A source close to the film’s unit has revealed that the makers will rope in fresh faces for the movie. “The storyline is not suitable for established actors. So, they are going ahead with new faces,” added the source.  Though a few names for directing the movie were doing rounds, however, Zee Studios suggested Nagaraj Manjule, who also directed the Marathi version, to helm the project.

The Marathi version which starred Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar in the lead hit the silver screen in April this year and was a box-office hit. The makers will begin with the pre-production and casting procedure in a few days. They plan to start rolling the movie in August this year. Sairat is the first Marathi movie to break all the records that were previously held by ‘Natsamrat’.
