Nayantara’s loss is Priyamani’s gain

After Nayantara’s refusal, the makers of Shah Rukh Khan starrerChennai Expresshave now approached National Award-winning South actress Priyamani to do an item song in the film and she has reportedly agreed to do the special number. If the reports are true, then it will be Priyamani’s second Bollywood date after Ram Gopal Varma'sRakhta Charitra.An insider said, "Yes, Priya Mani will be shaking a leg with SRK for the item song.Chennai Expressdirector Rohit Shetty will be shooting the song, composed by Vishal-Shekhar in Panchgani and Wai, Maharashtra, which is referred to as ‘Dakshin Kashi'. Well-known choreographer Raju Sundaram has also been roped in for the number. The song will be shot sometime this month."

The source added, Nayantara was not the only choice for the item song. "In addition to Nayanthara, we had also sent out feelers to a few other south Indian heroines including Samantha. Since Priya Mani's dates fit in with our shooting schedule, we signed her up," the source stated.
