Pudugai Maricha’s Next Is A Horror-Comedy

It seems to be a horror trend in Kollywood. With filmmakers like Dass Ramasamy , Jayakrishnan and Ramana Madhesh exploring the genre with their movies like Dora, Ezra and Mohini respectively, there is one more director who will be experimenting the horror genre. Joining the list is director Pudugai Maricha, whose next movie Mask is a horror comedy film.

The story of the movie focuses around four men who capture a spirit in the hope of making big in their lives. "Today, the audience is not keen to watch out-and-out masala films. They look for content that is entertaining and amusing, but not too crass and gory. I think that's why horror comedy works more than just horror as a genre,” said the Poovampatti director.

Actress Shahan of Thaarai Thapattai fame will be playing the ghost in the flick. "The movie can be divided into two segments, and Shahana's portion is like a link that connects both. We've finished shooting the talkie portion and are heading to Malaysia to film a song," said Pudugai.
