Rajesh M. Selva: ‘Kamal Sir Forgave Me For A Mistake’

Rajesh M. Selva is one amongst the few lucky directors who get the opportunity to work with a star like Kamal Haasan in their debut film. Selva is debuting as a director in action-thriller film Thoongaavanam. When the director was asked about one unforgettable moment on the sets of the film, he said, “It was when Kamal sir forgave me for a mistake and helped me with the solution”.

Talking of the incident, Rajesh M. Selva said, “We had to shoot for a major sequence in Hyderabad — a combination scene involving Prakash Raj, Kishore and Trisha. But I forgot to call the prosthetic makeup artist for the scene. It was a major goof-up and I was afraid the shoot would be delayed”.

The director continued, “I informed Kamal sir about this in the morning. With a cool head, he walked on to the set and applied the prosthetic makeup on all the artists himself. He had shot for almost 10 days continuously, and that was his off day, but he had to come to the set and work as a makeup man! I cannot forget that day in my entire life”. Besides Kamal, the film also stars Trisha, Prakash Raj, Kishore and Asha Sarath”.
