Rajkumar Periasamy Had To Do A Lot Of Research For Rangoon

Director Rajkumar Periasamy, who is a former assistant of director AR Murugadoss, is making his debut in Kollywood with Rangoon. The movie stars Gautham Karthik, Sana Makbul, Daniel Annie Pope and Prashant Nair in lead roles. The teaser of the action crime-thriller was recently released on Youtube which has crossed one million views.

“Only after watching the teaser did people express interest in knowing about the content that is dealt with in the film. When I completed the movie, I intended to depict the life of Gautham Karthik’s character in the teaser and that’s what we have delivered as well. I’m happy with the response the teaser has received so far,” said Rajkumar.

The debutant director said he spent 27 days doing the script of the movie. He said that since he had listened to many stories about smuggling, therefore it helped him to complete the script fast but had to do a lot of research. The team shot some parts of the flick in Chennai and some parts in Burma. The makers are currently waiting to get the nod by Censor Board.
