S.A. Chandrasekhar: People Ridiculed Me For Choosing Vijay

S.A. Chandrasekhar recently revealed that years back when he wanted to introduce Vijay in films he did not get a good response from the people in the industry. SAC said that he was “ridiculed” for his choice. Now, he says, he is glad that his son is accepted in the industry and feels proud about it.

While at the award function of Behindwoods Gold Medals a few days back, Chandrasekhar accepted the award on behalf of Illayathalapathy. When the director-producer came on the stage to receive the award, he seemed quite happy. He said, “Today, I stand before you all, accepting this award as the father who was mocked at for wanting to launch his son in films”.

Vijay received the award in acting under the category ‘People’s Choice Male’. The award function took place on July 19, at the ITC Grand Chola. Besides SAC, there were many parents who received the award on their son’s behalf such as Kasthuri Raja for Dhanush, Lakshmi Ravichander for Anirudh and Seshadhri for his singer son Haricharan.
