Sequel to Baasha is Not Feasible

Tinsel town is abuzz with the rumours of sequel to blockbuster movie Baashha, by director Suresh Krissna. Filmmaker Suresh Krissna is known for directing movies like Sathya, Annamalai, Baashha and Baba. Baasha had Rajinikanth, Nagma and Raghuvaran in pivotal roles.

The Veera director said to IANS during an interview, “It feels happy to read about rumours circulating on ‘Baasha’. I really wish such rumours become true. But the truth is that I’m not directing ‘Baasha 2′ with Ajith Kumar, though I’d love to work with him. I mean who doesn’t want to work with him”.

Krissna, who is currently busy shooting for Tamil television serial Lakshmi Vanthachu discussed the possibility of a sequel to Baashha with Rajnikanth after the release of Padayappa(1999). But, they felt that a sequel was not feasible. They believe that Baashha is inimitable and not even a sequel could equal it. Also, Rajnikanth does not believe that sequels work in Indian Cinema.
