Simbu makes Akon wear dhoti for Love Anthem music video

Trends have undergone a major change in the Southern film industry as international rockstars keep flying down to the place for recording special numbers. The latest one has happened with international R&B singer Akon flying down to Chennai to shoot the music video with Tamil star Simbu for his single track Love Anthem. Surprisingly, Akon did put on a dhoti for the global version of the video.

As Simbu told to IANS, "It was fun shooting with Akon. The music video has come out really well and I'm sure audiences will love it when it goes viral. I convinced him to wear the traditional Tamil festival attire and made him dance to few steps in the song.” He added further, "He is a wonderful human being and is very cooperative. I'm grateful to him for taking time off his busy schedule and coming all the way to Chennai to shoot the song with me.”

Previously, Akon also worked in India while crooning for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Ra.One’s Chamak Challo number. But this is the first time he will also appear on the video of a song. The song Love Anthem intends to spread the message of love internationally and therefore the word love has been sung in several languages. The original song was released in 2011 to demonstrate world peace.
