Suriya takes pledge to donate organs

Kollywood heartthrob Suriya has expressed his wish to donate his organs in front of a huge crowd which apparently gathered to participate in a marathon organised by Apollo Hospitals Chennai – Centre for Liver Disease and Transportation and Love your Liver Foundation. The marathon aimed at raising funds for the Bal Sanjeevani project which provides therapy services that aid children affected by Cerebral Palsy from low income groups and the Singam actor motivated fellow participants by running for five kilometres.

The motto of the event was also to create awareness for liver disorders. Surya vowed to donate his organs in front of 6000 marathoners including Apollo Hospital’s chairman Dr. Prathap C. Reddy and executive vice chairperson Dr. Preetha Reddy. Suriya had earlier participated in various social activities and is an enthusiastic campaigner for blood and organ donation.
