Venkat Prabhu Plans To Rope In R. Ashwin And Murali Vijay In ‘Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings’
Updated : April 24, 2016 12:41 PM IST Director Venkat Prabhu started rolling ‘Chennai 600028 II: Second Innings’, the sequel of hit 2007 film ‘Chennai 600028’ early this month. The shoot of the film is progressing in Chennai and the team will soon be done with the first schedule. Till, now the director has made very few new additions to the cast of the sequel, but he now may rope in some more new faces in the film.
According to reports, Venkat Prabhu is keen to bring cricketers R. Ashwin and Murali Vijay on-board to do a cameo in the flick. A source from the film’s unit revealed, "Venkat has been trying to bring in Ashwin and Murali Vijay on board for a cameo. But the cricketers are busy with the ongoing IPL and they are yet to agree to work on the film. As the film has a cricket-based subject, Venkat wants to rope in cricketers for a scene or a song along with the Chennai 28 boys. Once this season of IPL is over, the status on the availability of the cricketers to shoot for the film will be confirmed".
Reportedly, the unit will head to Courtallam-Tenkasi for the new schedule. The schedule is expected to go on for a month there. The sports comedy film is being bankrolled under Black Ticket Company banner and it will have music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
