The move of the TFPC comes in lieu of the trouble, which Rohini theater’s owner Mr. Panneerselvam has created. As per the official statement from the Council, “Rohini theater's owner Mr. Panneerselvam, along with his group, has been working against the interests of Tamil cinema of late. Along with this group, he is putting up obstacles against the release of Paayum Puli on September 4 and is also demanding a big sum of money from the producers of the film, Vendhar Movies”.

Paayum Puli, which stars Vishal Krishna, Kajal Aggarwal, Samuthirakani, Soori and Harish Uthaman in prominent roles, is a Vendhar Movies production. Vendhar Movies, who also distributed Lingaa, have reportedly not settled the losses for the Rajinikanth starrer Lingaa, as yet. On one hand, the press statement from the TFPC confirms that the release of all the films has been stalled while on the other hand, Vishal has said that despite all the obstacles, Paayum Puli will release as planned. Nothing can be said to be confirmed as of now.
