What Inspired Shruti Haasan’s Costumes In ‘Puli’?

Whenever period films or fantasy films release the costumes of the cast attracts and catches the eyes of the audiences. And to make sure that same happens with Vijay’s ‘Puli’, Chaitanya Rao has worked hard for the principal costumes of the leading lady of the film Shruti Haasan. He opened up about the movie and shared his experience.

He describes his first collaboration with director Chimbu Deven as brilliant. He talked about his work and said that his job was to make the Shruti’s attire modest and stunning at the same time. He also said that the Poojai actress showed interest in the preparations of the costume as she had spent a lot of time toning her body and wanted to look sensuous.

He elaborated his costume-maing process and said, "Since Deven did not want any brocade materials, I looked at several fabrics such as Georgette and silk as getting the correct fabric was very tricky. I had to dye fabrics to get certain colours as Deven wanted solid, pastel colours only." The actress looks amazing in the stills and the trailer of the movie, which is slated for an October 1 release.
