Anushka Shetty All Set To Play Queen Bhagmati In Her Next

Anushka Shetty, who apparently started the trend of female-centric flicks in the industry, is all set to star in another women-led period saga. The actress will be seen playing the role of Queen Bhagmati in the namesake movie. The movie will be helmed by Pilla Zamindar fame director G. Ashok and produced by UV Creations.

A source told Indian Express, “After the success of films like Arundhati, Rudhramadevi and even Size Zero, it is evident that Anushka is one actress who can carry a film on her shoulders with ease. The audience has accepted her in female-centric roles and that’s one of the reasons why Bhagmati is being made with her in the lead”.

It is also speculated that Jayaram will also be a part of the flick, playing a prominent role. “Jayaram is well known to the Telugu audience through his roles in films like Panchatantram and Uttama Villain (with Kamal Haasan) and Vijay’s Thuppaki. Also, he has a powerful screen-presence and persona which makes him an ideal fit for the role”, added the source. However, an official announcement is awaited.
