Anushka Shetty Clarifies Her Next ‘Bhagmati’ Is Not A Period Based Film

Anushka Shetty has been doing lot of period based films lately. Both her period flicks, ‘Baahubali’ and ‘Rudhramadevi’, did a great business at the box office. Reports suggested that she will once again be seen in a period film titled ‘Bhagmati’ as queen Bhagmati, but Anushka cleared that it won’t be a period film.

Speculations were rife that the film will be based on the 17th century mystic Hindu wife of Quli Qutb Shah. But the Size Zero actress dismissed the rumours. She said, "I know a lot of people have been thinking that this is a period film on the historic Bhagmati of Hyderabad. But that's not true. It's a modern day thriller".

 She added that she is busy with her current commitments as of now. The Mirchi actress plans to focus on ‘Bhagmati’ after wrapping her current projects. G. Ashok will helm the venture and it will be bankrolled under UV Creations banner.
