Check Out The Movies That Got Top Honours At Nandi Awards

For the uninitiated, the Nandi Awards is the highest award ceremony for excellence in Telugu cinema, Telugu theatre, Telugu Television, and Lifetime achievements in Indian cinema, presented annually by the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Andhra Pradesh government delayed the long-pending Nandi Awards for the years 2012 and 2013 and they have now announced it. Two of the movies that received top honours were S. S. Rajamouli’s Eega and Gautham Menon's Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu.

For the year 2012, Eega and Yeto Vellipoyindi Manasu were conferred with the top honours and for 2013, Mirchi and Atharintiki Dharedi won the awards. The awards were delayed due to the bifurcation of the two states. The award was last given in the year 2013. In the year 2013, the awards were given for the movies delivered in 2011.

The Nandi Award Committee chairperson for 2012 was actress Jaya Sudha and film director Kodi Rama Krishna was for 2013. The results were submitted to the chief minister yesterday. The other committee members of the Nandi Awards included MP Murali Mohan, Maharshi Raghava, Gunnam Ganga Rajum Pokuri Babu Rao, Siva Parvati, Delhi Rajeswari, Sana, Veeramachineni Pramod Kumar, Vemuri Raghu, script writer Akella and director Chandra Sidhartha.
