Know What Made Chandoo Mondeti A Responsible Filmmaker

Director Chandoo Mondeti shot to fame with his 2014 bilingual mystery thriller ‘Karthikeya’. The director’s next project, titled ‘Premam’, released today, October 7. Chandoo feels that this flick has made him a responsible filmmaker and helped him understand the commerce of cinema.

Chandoo told IANS, “On the day the film was launched, few distributors had come forward to buy the film. We recovered our investment on that day. These things helped me understand the commerce of cinema.” It is a Telugu coming-of-age musical-romantic comedy film that stars Nithiin, Shruti Haasan, Madonna Sebastian, Anupama Parameswaran and Naga Chaitanya in lead roles.

Daggubati Venkatesh and Akkineni Nagarjuna appear in cameo roles. Chandoo Mondeti reveals how ‘Premam’, the official remake of the 2015 Malayalam film of the same name, came into being. He says, “Chaitu and I were supposed to team up for a thriller. It was around the same time; I watched Premam and I fell in love with the film. I shared my excitement with Chaitu and within a week’s time, he was flooded with offers to star in the film’s remake.” ‘Premam’ is high on the expectations of the audience.
